Toasted Macambo beans from Shazuta origin - San Martin - Peruvian Jungle. Its properties benefit our brain, the theobromine it contains, generates a state of well-being and promotes concentration. It is a close cousin of cocoa (which, as you know, is where chocolate comes from). The scientific name is Theobroma Bicolor. The pod is a light green colour, and when you open it, you will see the pulp and seeds, just like cacao pods. The majambo seeds are bigger than the beans inside cacao pods and can be eaten straight from the fruit. Or, in the Amazonian forest in Peru, the seeds are often grilled.
